M 104: Sehr hell. Zunächst ist nur die eine Hälfte zu sehen. Bei ind. wird die andere Seite jenseits des Staubbandes sehr schwach und groß sichtbar, das Staubband zeigt sich als recht breiter schwarzer Balken dazwischen quer über die ganze Galaxie.
M 104: Very bright. At first only one half is visible. With averted vision the part beyond the dust lane gets visible. It is very faint and large. The dust lane shows up as a pretty broad bar running across the whole galaxy.
