M 98: Helle Galaxie aber geringe Flächenhelligkeit. Elongiert ca. 4:1 SO-NW. Mittelhelles Zentrum aber kein Kern. Die Enden der Galaxie sind an beiden Seiten heller und die Südhälfte erscheint insgesamt heller.
M 98: Bright galaxy but low surface brightness. Elongated about 4:1 SE-NW. Moderately bright center but no core. The ends are brighter on the sides and the whole southern half is brighter.
