M 81: Sehr helle, sehr große Galaxie. Zuerst ist nur das ziemlich große Zentralgebiet zu sehen. Bei ind. Sehen wird die gesamte Galaxie etwas 5x so groß, wie das Zentralgebiet. Im N und S ist die Ellipse deformiert, hier deuten sich Spiralarme an. Östlich der Galaxie ist abgesetzt ein sehr schwaches Stück des Spiralarms zu sehen in dem ich noch zwei hellere Stellen erkenne. Bei 159x erscheint die Galaxie noch länglicher und gerade begrenzt.
M 81: Very bright, very large galaxy. At first only the pretty large central area is visible. With averted vision the galaxy gets 5 times as big as the central area. In the N and the S the ellipse is deformed, indications of spiral arms. East of the galaxy and separted from it is a very faint part of the spiral arm with two brighter parts in it. At 159x the galaxy appears more elongated and limited straight.
